The Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM) has successfully concluded its 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Central Committee Election, held on March 28, 2026 at AC Hotel by Marriott Puchong, marking the formation of its leadership team for the 2026–2028 term.
The meeting was chaired by AGM Speaker Mr. Saw Choo Hong, while the election process was overseen by Election Committee Chairman Mr. Tan Lay Seong.
Dato’ Dr. Teh Tai Yong was re-elected as National President, continuing his leadership to steer the association into its next phase of development.
Notably, approximately 30% of the newly elected Central Committee members are women entrepreneurs, reflecting PUMM’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
# Strengthening growth and national relevance
In his address, Teh highlighted that PUMM has achieved steady progress over the past two years, with stronger organisational influence, deeper engagement with government agencies, increased media visibility, and sustained growth in membership and participation.
He revealed that PUMM organised and participated in a total of 550 activities in 2025, including meetings, seminars, corporate visits, and trade missions, reflecting the association’s active engagement across the business ecosystem.
# Driving AI adoption and member value
Looking ahead, PUMM will transition towards a more value-driven approach, placing greater emphasis on delivering tangible benefits to its members.
Key priorities for the upcoming term include:
- Accelerating AI awareness and adoption among members
- Supporting practical implementation of AI solutions in business operations
- Strengthening engagement through structured and data-driven initiatives
- Enhancing PUMM’s role as a collective voice for entrepreneurs
“AI is no longer just a trend, but a key enabler for sustainable business growth. Companies that are slow to adapt may gradually lose their competitive edge,” Teh said.
In addition, PUMM will promote ESG adoption, strengthen collaboration between businesses, government agencies and international partners, and implement its broader strategic roadmap, including brand development, system enhancement, financial sustainability and leadership succession planning.
Teh emphasised that leadership within the association is a responsibility rather than a title, calling on the new team to move forward with unity, commitment and strong execution.
“The next two years will be a crucial phase for PUMM. Our ability to capture emerging trends, integrate resources and deliver meaningful value to members will determine how far we can progress,” he added.
