Malaysia Entrepreneurs' Development Association (PUMM) Sabah visited Partners of Community Organizations in Sabah (PACOS Trust) with YB Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative Malaysia. PACOS is an organization that strives to empower indigenous communities by systematically building and strengthening community organizations.
The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Kuskop) has proposed the establishment of a development council for entrepreneurs, cooperatives, hawkers and petty traders in every district across the country starting this 2023.
Datuk Ewon Benedick said the District Officer would chair the council to manage development and resolve issues related to entrepreneurs, cooperatives, hawkers, and petty traders at the grassroots level more effectively.
Datuk Ewon Benedick, also the Penampang MP, hoped that the Penampang Entrepreneurship Development Plan could be completed within the first three months of 2023 to enable it to be used as a ministry policy and programme.
"This development plan is my vision to develop Penampang in the field of digital-based entrepreneurship, agro-tourism-based enterprises, social enterprises and small hawker enterprises in the guest houses," he said.
Without reducing the current focus in the ministry, he wants to give additional priority to Sabah and Sarawak, as well as the indigenous villages in the peninsula, in developing entrepreneurs and cooperatives.

企业发展及合作社部长拿督依温贝尼迪表示，马来西亚企业家发展与合作部（Kuskop）提议从今年开始在全国每个地区建立由企业家，合作社以及小型商贩组成的发展委员会。该委员会将由地方官员担任主席，以更有效地管理发展并解决与小型企业、合作社和小商贩有关的事项。
同时身为兵南邦国会议员的拿督依温贝尼迪也希望兵南邦创业发展计划能够在明年首三个月内完成，以使其能够被用作部委的政策和方案。“这项发展计划是我在数码企业、农业旅游业、社会企业和小商贩领域发展兵南邦的愿景。”
他也希望通过合作社的成立能够帮助改善农村社区的社会经济态势，在不影响 Kuskop 现有的重点项目下将更加关注沙巴、砂拉越以及半岛土著村庄的企业家与合作社的发展。
